For over 25 years, Isabel Mazzotta has been working as a Graphic Designer and Community Artist in Toronto. A graduate of George Brown College’s Graphic Design Programme, Isabel has developed a unique design aesthetic throughout the course of her career. Ever involved in the arts community Isabel has participated in various exhibits, and has won numerous awards and certificates for her work, including First Prize in Watercolour and an Honorable Mention in Mixed Media. In pursuit of continuing her professional development as an artist, Isabel has also taken numerous courses at recognized institutions including the Toronto School of Art, the Ontario College of Art and Design, Toronto Image Works and Central Technical School. In addition to her graphic design work, Isabel also specializes in drawing, painting, face painting, and Origami, the art of

Japanese paper folding.

As a member of the Art Gallery of Ontario and Harbourfront Centre’s educational departments for 10 years Isabel has participated in various events and art festivals. She has also taken an active role in Young People’s Theatre events and has worked as an Ambassador at Luminato’s Festival of the Arts. Isabel enjoys sharing her expertise and skills with the community and finds her work with children and youth challenging, fulfilling,

and rewarding. Also enjoys Music and singing in Choirs. Plays a little bit of guitar and is learning how to play the flute.

At present, Isabel is actively involved in supporting the arts through community-based work. She teaches drawing, painting, and origami at various community centres and after school programmes throughout the city. In her teaching, Isabel loves to introduce children and youth to the world of Origami as she teaches them how to take a flat piece of paper and transform it into beautiful, 3-dimensional work of arts. She also does a lot of facepainting in the Community for Community Festivals, Birthday Parties, Corporate Events, School Funfairs and Community BBQ's etc.
